About Us

Our context
We are a Church of England church in the Diocese of Ely.

Our Vision
This sets the agenda for everything we do as a church community.
A Welcoming and Inclusive Community
We hope to be welcoming to all, accessible to all, and inclusive of all. No matter what race, gender, or orientation. We welcome doubters, seekers, zealots. We welcome those who have never set foot in a church and those who have set foot in too many.

We want to create a safe, friendly space for all. We are on a journey that seeks to make our gatherings accessible to those with disabilities of all sorts. We seek to be a people who weep with those who weep and and sing for joy with the joyful. We welcome those suffering with mental health issues, and those going through relationship break down. We want to be a community that is real, honest and doesn't just pretend we're all okay really.

This is our hope, our prayer, the journey we are on. We hope that through this journey others will experience something of the Grace of God that we have received.
Seeking God's Presence
We believe that the God of Love wants to fill and re-fill each one of us with the Waters of Life. We believe that we need to make space for his presence to meet us, heal us, and transform us.  We believe that the Spirit of God yearns for us, and longs to captivate our hearts.

In our Sunday Gatherings we are on a journey that seeks to make space for God's Presence to minister to us and speak to us. We want to encounter the Living God in prayer, in the scriptures, and in the sacraments (Holy Communion). We long for this to be more than just something that happens in the head, but something that touches our heart.

We want our lives to be set on fire with love for God (as one beautiful prayer puts it), each and every day. We seek his presence throughout the week - looking for traces of his Love in creation, in our relationships, in our work and in our play.
Seeking God's Kingdom
In seeking God's Presence, we cannot help but find ourselves seeking his Kingdom.

But we do not do this alone, and as we go out we find many others - some Christian, some not - also building up God's Kingdom of Love and Life. That's why we talk about Partnership. We partner with anyone who is willing in seeking to build God's Kingdom.

We pray to be a community where each person who is part of the church family works with others to foster Peace, Life and the Common Good. Before doing anything as a 'church' we encourage everyone to get stuck in with whatever is already going on, and with whoever the Spirit directs us to. This might mean caring for our family, friends and neighbours. It might mean getting involved in the local school, or the car help scheme, or running the local cinema club.

And of course, as we seek God's Kingdom we do things as a church family that are outward focused and seeking to bring a glimpse of God's Love to others; working for the good of the wider community.
